Concealed pistol courses are being offered on Saturday June 3rd and Sunday June 4th.  Please contact Casey Nemeth at 546mcso@gmail.com or 231-250-7257 for more information on the classes or to be placed on the roster.

On 5/17/17 Barryton PD handled a larceny of a purplish/pink colored female Huffy mountain bike from 98 Marion Ave which occurred at approximately 1144 pm on 5/16/17.  Anyone with information reference this incident is urged to contact Barryton PD.

On 4/29/17 MCSO handled an MDOP of a truck ignition near 197 Northern Ave.  Anyone with information reference this incident is urged to contact Barryton PD.

Spring Clean-up – Many residents have been posted reference blight/Grass/and abandoned & unregistered vehicles.  Many have cleaned up what was requested and others have made contact with the department and plan on cleaning up their posted property.  A short extension has been issued to those who have contacted the department reference blight notices they received.

Barryton ordinances – Barryton village ordinances are located for review on the Village of Barryton website at villageofbarryton.com or you can contact a Village representative or Barryton PD.

Lilac Festival – The Department is planning on being staffed over the course of the Lilac Festival weekend to deter all criminal behavior, slow traffic down and participate in the parade.  Posse has been spoken to about assisting as well for the parade activities.

Campfire Ordinance – Campfires are allowed in the village as long as they are no more than 3 feet in diameter and there is no burn ban by the DNR.  No person shall burn leaves, weeds, grass, rubbish, brush, trash or other debris in any place.  Camp fires must also be at least 25 feet from the nearest building which is not on the same property and at least 15 feet away from any building or property line which is on the same property.  Campfires may be authorized between sunrise and 12AM.

LEIN Audit – Barryton Police LEIN audit is scheduled for June 15th, 2017.
