Concealed pistol courses are being offered on Saturday December 2nd and Sunday December 3rd 2017 as well as Saturday January 6th, 2018 and Sunday January 7th, 2018. Barryton PD was on site at the farmer’s market location on Halloween handing out and scanning candy with the metal detector. The department would like to recognize all the community members that worked so hard to make the event such a success. No incidents occurred or were reported from Devils night.
New Warrant – Michael May for Contempt of Court
On 10/16/17 Barryton PD handled 2 larceny complaints at Riverside Sunoco. Barryton PD made contact with both suspects and items were returned pending criminal charges.
On 10/16/17 Barryton PD had a traffic stop in which a large amount of marijuana and other drug paraphernalia was located. An appearance citation was issued to a 51 year old male from Ionia for multiple Misdemeanor offenses.
On 10/18/17 MCSO handled an MDOP complaint to a fence on Norman St.
On 10/22/17 Barryton PD handled an MDOP/Turfing complaint at the Barryton Village Office in which someone turfed the yard and driveway. Anyone with any information reference this incident is urged to contact Barryton PD.
The Department would like to remind residents of the Village Snow Ordinance 21-2015 Parking section: No parking on any street, 2:00a.m. to 6:00a.m. Beginning November 1st through March 31st. A citation can be issued and if snowfall requires plowing the vehicle can be towed at owner’s expense.
Village residents can rake their leaves curbside for pickup by the Village beginning October 15th – November 15th. Village removal of yard waste also ends November 15th and must be in proper sized bio-degradable containers such as cardboard boxes or paper bags.
The course is offered to CPL holders only and cost $50.00. Courses will be conducted at the Barryton Conservation Club and are scheduled for Saturday September 28th and Saturday October 19th.
