September 11, 2024
President James Soriano called the Village Council to order at 6:00pm
Pledge to the flag was recited
Roll call: Evelyn Jones-present, James Soriano-present, Kathryn Kerr-present, Steven Hammond-present, Lavonne Horstman-Present
Public Comment: Ethan Ray asked Council for permission to use a stronger tape on the tennis court for pickle ball, he also discussed the price increase to rent Central Park for Lilac Festival
James Soriano read the DPW Report: There is no update yet on when Tom will return, the gazebos have been stained, they started pulling brush at the Fish Park, will finish that up tomorrow, Jake and Roy are still doing a great job. Jake will be going to get a couple loads of hot patch along with some tack, purchasing the hot patch was approved at the Regular Meeting on March 13, 2024. The flower boxes will be stored in the barn for the winter, if Tom isn’t back for plowing there could be an issues as Jake’s wife travels and he has a child, Jim and Jake will split plowing and do the best they can.
Kathryn Kerr made a motion seconded by Steven Hammond to purchase up to $100 of hot patch tack, roll call-all yeses, motion passes
Kathryn Kerr made a motion seconded by Evelyn Jones to have Eric Cozat, the Villages lagoon Operator, come for training Jake and Jim if Tom is on an extended leave, roll call-all yeses, motion passes
Minutes of Regular Meeting August 14, 2024, were presented
Evelyn Jones made a motion seconded by Kathryn Kerr to approve minutes as written, roll call-all ayes, motion passes
James Soriano read the presidents Report: nothing at this time
James Soriano made a motion seconded by Kathryn Kerr to renew the Labor Law Poster Subscription for $39.00, roll call-all yeses, motion passes

Off season audit is complete, reports have been filed, when grants are requested and awarded records need to be turned in to the treasurer for record keeping, and they are required for the audit. Marijuana license fees are down $5,000 and land lease down $8,000, parks is over budget. If not using the card machine it should be sent back.
James Soriano made a motion seconded by Evelyn Jones to send the Clover machine that was used at the Farmer’s market back since it is no longer being used. Roll call-all yeses, motion passes

Evelyn Jones made a motion seconded by Kathryn Kerr to pay General Fund bills with check #19745-19771, 478-485(E) for $7,990.19, Sewer Fund with check #3456-3458 3119-3120(E) for $9,35.14, Motor Pool fund with check #1502 29(E) for $689.10, Local Street Fund with check #1059-1060 for $1,605.00, Major Street Fund with check #1115 for $230,483.30, for a total of $250,119.73, roll call-all yeses, motion passes

James Soriano made a motion seconded by Kathryn Kerr to get a port a john for Halloween, and to have trick or treating from 4:00-8:00, roll call-Steven Hammond-no, Evelyn Jones-no, Lavonne Horstman-no, motion fails
James Soriano made a motion to extend trick or treating this year from 4:00-8:00, roll call-all yeses, motion passes
James Soriano made a motion seconded by Kathryn Kerr to renew M66 Provisioning Center License, roll call-Kathryn Kerr-yes, Evelyn Jones-yes, Lavonne Horstman-yes, Steven Hammond-no, James Soriano-yes motion passes
The Village was awarded $12,000 from the MET Grant for the sidewalk in Central park from the pavilions to the bathrooms, Council would like to thank the County Commissioners for this grant money.

Council Comment: James and Jake would like to have some work done to the leaf vacuum to be able to put it on the trailer to use this year
Evelyn Jones made a motion seconded by Lavonne Horstman to spend up to $500 on fixing the leaf vacuum, roll call-all yeses, motion passes
