Regular Meeting Minutes

President James Soriano called the Village Council to order at 6:00pm

Pledge to the flag was recited

Roll call: Michelle Kundrat-absent, James Soriano-present, Kathryn Kerr-present, Steven Hammond-present

Public Comment: MJT presented Council with ideas for leasing Village land for an outdoor grow, they only want to be charged for tillable land, would like to drop the price of licenses and add more to the cost of the lease.

James Soriano made a motion seconded by Kathryn Kerr to allow MJT to begin working land for future use, roll call-all yeses, motion passes

James Soriano read the DPW Report: James presented Council with the Wastewater Operations Manager Job Purpose and Summary

Kathryn Kerr made a motion seconded by James Soriano to accept the Wastewater Operations Manager Job Purpose and Summary, roll call-all yeses, motion passes

James Soriano made a motion seconded by Kathryn Kerr to put the Earned Sick Time Act into effect on February 1st 2025, roll call-all yeses, motion passes

James Soriano made a motion seconded by Kathryn Kerr to appoint Tom Brown as the Wastewater Operations Manager, roll call-all yeses, motion passes

Kathryn Kerr made a motion seconded by Steven Hammond to raise Jacob Morgan’s wages to $20/hr., roll call-all yeses, motion passes

James Soriano made a motion seconded by Kathryn Kerr to purchase a case of gloves from gloves.com for $134, roll call-all yeses, motion passes

January 17, 2025 at 9:00am is the Wastewater System Project kick off meeting and January 21st at 11:30 is the sewer rate study meeting

In the next few years we need to consider adding a new tractor and truck into the budget

Chief Morgan read the Police report, NSF check from Riverside, Angelina Braley to be the Grant Coordinator, she will work on and maintain grants and take care of Police Department social media accounts

James Soriano made a motion seconded by Kathryn Kerr to hire Angelina Braley to be the Grant Coordinator for the Police Department, roll call-all yeses, motion passes

Minutes of Regular Meeting December 11, 2024 were presented

Kathryn Kerr made a motion seconded by Steven Hammond to accept the minutes with correction, roll call- all ayes, motion passes

James Soriano read the President Report-covered everything in the DPW Report

There is no Treasurers report or approval of the bills this month due to computers being down

Council Comment: Jacob Morgan wanted to give a shout out to James Soriano for always being available to answer questions, being willing to help and provide whatever is needed to get the job done, he’s been very helpful.

Steven Hammond made a motion seconded by Kathryn Kerr to adjourn, roll call-all ayes, motion passes
