Regular Meeting Minutes
President Daniel Cross called the Village Council to order at 6:00pm
Pledge to the flag was recited
Roll call: Michael Kundrat-present, Daniel Cross-present, Kathryn Kerr-present, Michelle Kundrat-present, Terah Eaton-present
Public Comment: A gentleman wants to bring a Flea Market to Barryton and partner with the Farmer’s market, they would be using the pavilion and electricity, charging $5.00 for a vendor fee for this year, and will split the vendor fees with the village. Vendors will need to sign a hold harmless and vendor form. Flea market would be Friday through Sunday. Sandra Eaton asked about planting a tree in the park to honor her family. She would also like to see more lilacs planted in town; she mentioned the French lilac blooms a little later and longer than the regular lilac. Terah volunteered to look into getting some more lilacs.
Kathryn Kerr made a motion seconded by Mike Kundrat to allow Ed Allen to run a flea market Friday through Sunday, with the use of electricity, $5/day vendor fee, to be split with the Village, and partner with the farmer’s market, roll call-all yeses, motion passes
Barryton Police Report: There were 19 complaints in Fork Township in May, none in the Village, in June there were several break-ins in the Village and at the ball field at the Community Center, 1 larceny at Lilac Festival, 9 salvages inspections and 1 citation given. Chief provided a quote for Kenwood radios, they have 3-year warranty and a 2-year warranty on mobile ones. There might be a patrol car available soon in Breckenridge, Jim and Scott are going to find some time next week to go look at it.

Daniel Cross read the President Report- Dan thanked everyone involved with the Lilac Festival for a great weekend, would like to see a food box in the village, will discuss more in July, possible volunteers to make boxes, would like to get a neighborhood watch program started, Chief Morgan will look into programs,
Courtney Garchow read the Treasurers report: Bank balances as of 5/31/ 2026, General Fund-$513,542.44, Sewer Fund-$430,537.66, Solid Waste Fund-$12,536.53, Major Streets-$58,863.77, Local Streets-$34,286.82, Motor Pool-$39,544.71 Sewer Bond Interest $1,002.44 CD balances: Sewer Reserve (53,535.61) General (50,000), Solid (20,000) = $70,000 Accumulated Interest (Matures 6/8/2026): $3034.28. General (50,000), Solid (10,000), Major (15,000), Local (25,000), Motor Pool (20,000) = $120,000 Accumulated Interest (Matures 11/10/2026): $3,160.61. Delinquent sewer on tax roll $35,751.70, auditor working on non-=audit year reports, Closing Sewer Bond Interest account, transferring to sewer due to bank charges. Will be getting more CDs in July at an interest rate of 3.75%, will be on vacation the week of June 12-21st, Courtney is resigning as treasurer, she will train the new person.

Michelle Kundrat made a motion seconded by Kathryn Kerr to pay April 16, 2026-June 12, 2026 bills, General Fund bills with check #20108-20137 689-713(E) for $, 18,420.28 Sewer Fund with check # 3525-3538 3165-3168 (E) for $165,980.52, Motor Pool fund with check #1540 56(E) for $960.31, Solid Waste Fund with check #816 779-782 (E) for $9,495.10, Local Street with check #1076-1077 40 (E) for $3,505.62 and Major Street Fund with check #46-48 (E) for 2,084.49 a total of $200,790.26, roll call-all yeses, motion passes
Bridge inspection is coming up this summer, we are going to need new signs, Kathryn will get quotes and bring them to the July meeting.
